Plain clay smoking pipe; bowl and heel intact but mouthpiece end of stem missing. Pressed from a mould. One of five of an identical plain design. Part of a collection of domestic items salvaged in the 1970s from the SS MAORI which ship wrecked in 1909 off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa.
