"Crusader Belfry, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, looking over the temple area towards the Mount Of Olives." The image is part of the Jack Bickley photo collection that he sent home from Libya during World War 2. Born in Riverton in 1915, he was undergoing teacher training in Dunedin in 1940 when he enlisted in the army and served overseas, returning to NZ in November 1945. Marrying his sweetheart Irene on 26th December 1945 and beginning his teaching career he taught until 1975 and passed away in 1978 in Arrowtown. Irene passed away in 2012.
