WORLD black dress with blue geometric shape, 1999

Shared by
New Zealand Fashion Museum

WORLD opened the 'New Zealand Four' show in London Fashion Week in 1999, and the applause for the WORLD models broke the ice. The foray to London was sponsored by New Zealand Wools and WORLD’s second outing in October 1999 featured dresses in wool jersey with brightly coloured three-dimensional geometric shapes. While WORLD is renowned for its exuberant use of colour this particular collection had an uncharacteristic amount of black not seen again until their 2009 collection There is no Depression in New Zealand.
