Turnbuckle

Shared by
Edwin Fox Ship and Visitor Centre

Brass turnbuckle from a porthole of the Edwin Fox. With a length of rod for screwing, it is used to open the porthole. Found in the wall on the Edwin Fox during restoration. During the ship's lifetime objects had fallen down the walls and got caught in the knees (a bent piece of wood used as a brace).
