White marble plaque removed from the concrete pillar at the west end (Cromwell town end) of the old Cromwell Bridge prior to submersion of the bridge below the waters of Lake Dunstan. The plaque reads "Cromwell Bridge - Reconstructed June 1891, L D MacGeorge Assoc M Inst C.E, Engineer, R S Sparrow & Co, Manufacturers and Builders"
