Photographic postcard, The Rocks, Riverton.

The building of the bathing shed was first suggested by the Riverton Progress League in 1933 as it would "popularise the Rocks". In 1935 a meeting was held by the Rocks Carnival Committee discuss the erection of the a bathing shed at Mitchells Bay at the Rocks and a fund raising project was decided on. In 1936 the Wallace County Council granted permission to erect tearooms and a bathing shed. It is not known when the building was opened or if tea rooms were ever built but perhaps the war intervened.
