A black and white photograph of a 'street' scene. In the absence of anything on the back of the photograph it is presumed that it was taken in a city in Italy. Photograph part of the Jack Bickley collection. John Wallace (Jack) Bickley, born in Riverton in 1915, was undergoing teacher training in Dunedin in 1940 when he enlisted in the army and served overseas World War Two, returning to NZ in November 1945. Marrying his sweetheart Irene on 26th December 1945 and beginning his teaching career he taught until 1975 and passed away in 1978 in Arrowtown. Irene passed away in 2012.
