LGBTQIA+ collections at Tairāwhiti Museum -

This kete highlights photographs and taonga from Tairāwhiti Museum’s rainbow community collection.

“As a reminder and a reaffirmation of the adoration and unwavering support of Tairāwhiti museum for the LGBTQIA+/takatāpui communities, we've created an online collections highlight for all things queer," explains Tairāwhiti Musuem Collection Manager Julia Hardie. "It's a small collection, because museums were not always clued in as to how best to collect and represent the diversity of their communities, but we're trying to be better."
