The aim of the Rangiora & Districts Early Records Society is to collect and preserve the history of Rangiora and Districts. The museum's extensive photographic collection comprises many photos, taken at the turn of the century and before, of the town of Rangiora, surrounding districts and of the people who lived there. Highlights are a 3,000-strong glass negative collection and photographic gallery. A 1905 sitting room, an early kitchen also feature. Displays in one room are devoted to honoring the work of early photographers, some of whom set up businesses in Rangiora. The Doris Gregory Archives Room holds records of individuals, families, businesses, clubs, societies and organisations in recognition of their contribution to the growth of the town and the surrounding area. Visit our website rangioramuseum.wordpress.com for more detail about the museum.
