Established in 1961, this railway museum is New Zealand's oldest preservation railway, winning awards from the National Federation of Rail Societies in 6 consective years for best restoration of rollingstock and locomotives. We also house New Zealand's oldest operational Steam Locomotive A67 and unrestored carriage.

Inbound tour operators are welcome to visit our site as we have New Zealand's most diverse collections of railway equipment.
The Ocean Beach Railway is owned and operated by the Otago Railway and Locomotive Society Incorporated.

We have a Station Book Shop, Fully equipped workshop -John Wilson Drive,-a carriage shed which houses historic railway equipment.
Dunedin's most newest childrens playground and local safe swimming beaches, St Kilda and St Clair Beach.
Also take a walk down the Dunedin costal walking track at the railways southern terminus, Moana Rua.
