The National Army Museum Te Mata Toa is a memorial to the men and women of the New Zealand Army who died in the service of this country in war. It aims to demonstrate the part played by the Army in the history and development of New Zealand, and its role in shaping our nation and its identity. The National Army Museum is renowned for its realistic life-size dioramas which help bring the history and personal stories of the soldier's to life. The National Army Museum also has an extensive Research Centre including library and archives, together with The Mess Tent cafe, The Quartermaster store which sells gifts and military memorabilia. The museum also offers education programmes and daily guided tours.
